Mick offers Shiatsu massage. Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork based on Traditional Chinese medicine and recognises no separation between mind and body both in diagnosis and treatment. The treatment techniques of balancing the energy in the meridians that flow along the body, acupressure and ampuku (Japanese stomach massage) are essential components of treating the body as a whole.
Mick also utilises treatment to the fascia, muscles and other structures to allow correction of physical restrictions and postural imbalance which, in turn can assist with emotional and psychological balance.
Shiatsu is given through clothes on a padded futon on the floor although Mick is able to adjust the setting accordingly if required. Below are some examples of what Shiatsu massage can help with:
Muscular injuries and prevention
Sciatica
Anxiety
Fatigue
